The future status of English as the global language is assured

These days, it seems to be a truism that English is the global language. But how about its future? Will English continue to dominate as the major medium of communication in the era of the Internet? Although there are many challenges the English language might face in the future, English will still definitely be the global language in the next several decades.

Opponents of English as the global language in the future claim that some language can replace English as the global language. However, the argument is inconclusive. One language starts to thrive only when the country gains prosperity and power. There is no valid evidence to prove that the English-speaking countries, specifically the U.S., will lose their power in the future. There is also no valid evidence to prove that some other country will gain more power than the U.S. in the next decades.

Some people might argue that even no other-language-speaking country will in power in the next decades, some other language still might rise with migration. A long time ago, England had colonies all across the world. All these colonies obviously would speak English. So English was easily able to spread around the world. Now, China has the most population in the world. With migration, almost all the countries in the world have Chinese speakers. The influx of many Spanish-speaking immigrants to the U.S. also increased the number of Spanish-speakers in the U.S. But without enough the economic and political power of its country, Chinese or Spanish still can not replace English as the globle language in the world. In order to live in the new country, the migration has motivation to learn English or local language.

Opponents also refer English is a difficult language, and will be easily replaced. Unfortunately, there is not yet a valid method to determine whether one language is "easier" than another. One language may seem easier to somebody, but more difficult to others. Therefore, the argument of English will be replaced in the future because it is difficult to learn is vulnerable and can not be established.

In a word, there is no efficient and effective proof or measure to be sure English will lose its current status.

Many developed countries have English as their first mother language.
Some people disagree with English as the future global language, but I agree with English as the global language in future.
There are some reasons that those people disagree with English as the first language in future.
First, they think the English is not easy to learn because the English words frequently change .For example, the word of ‘toilet’ was meaning of lady’ a large bowl with a seat, or a platform with a hole, which is connected to a water system and which you use when you want to get rid of urine or faeces from your body. But now it is meaning of bathroom for man and woman.
Second,According to Korean, some of them think Korean should be the first language. hey argue that the Korean language is proved as very scientific and practical language.
The last reason is that those people don’t like to study English, and they feel English is difficult to learn.

However, I prefer that English as the global language in future.
There are three reasons why I agree with English as the global language in future.

First, Many countries know how to speak and write English and English has become important of their society.
Many of country have been taught English since they are child.
For example in Korea, from kindergarten to college, it is mandatory to learn English. So we have class of English and exam of English.
Also, in Korea, to get a job, every department required the English degree. That is, good at English means you will be succeed. TOFEL score and TOEIC score is biggest thing that it is included in the resume. If it doesn't include or doesn't get a good score, they are not selected by employer and they lost the job they want. So it is very important in our society.

Second, Many changes in English make people learn English more easily and fast.

The last one, America is the strongest country among many other countries in many ways.
Nowadays, English is the most of part of our lives. All over the world, we can easy to find English anywhere. For example, in Asia such as China, Japan, South Korea, they prefer English at the signboard instead of their own language. Also, English is the international language of diplomacy, business, science, technology, banking, computing, medicine, engineering, tourism. And these day is global world, it is important for economy to export or import product. But they should trade with only English which is official language.

In Conclusion, although many people think English cannot be the global language in future, but I believe English will be the global language in future. Because, English already become one part of our lives. Without English, we cannot hang out these days. People learn English now because they believe English will be the global language.

English is easy,but difficult to master. English is very easy to pick up at the start. It needs not to study for a long time to start speaking English and express using it. English has a lot of words that are made up by only 3 or less letters. So it is easy to memorize new vocabulary. Genders are also simple in English(Economist). But if you wish to master it, it gets a lot harder. It has an enormous vocabulary,irregular verbs,and complex grammar. Even some native speakers have difficulty to use it sometimes(Economist). Some simple words have different meanings in different context(Economist).

The common language used as international idiom is English. Most of the countries use this language as a way of communication with different countries that have different idioms. The reason why English is the “universal language” is because is considered as an easy language to learn. Also, in many countries kids begging to learn Basic English words since they are in kindergarten, for example, in Venezuela and another countries English is a mandatory class since kindergarten until high school, and is optional in the university. Not only grammar but also pronunciation is the main reason why English can turn complicate it. Living at home and living away from home

When people finish the high school face several decisions, one of the most important is what we do with our lives, if we want to study one professional career or get a job and earn our money. When we decide about that, we have several consequences about our option for example if we want to live at home or live away from home, and these two options carry different life styles, at home we live with our parents and in the other we live alone.

The advantages are different between one and other, for example if I live alone in other city and I am going to my house at night and I want to eat something, if in the morning before I left the house I didn’t prepare something, I won’t have food for eat when I come back at night, on the other hand, If I live with my parents I am most likely to have it. In the same way we can seek a lot of examples about amenities and its benefits.

In spite of these differences, we have to know about the earnings when you live alone, because you can develop other experience and other things, for example you need to know how you can management your house through bills, cleanliness, and order. And all of these generated growth as a person.

However you have to know that any of these is not better than other, the difference is in the development of people’s characteristics.

American and Korean school life ( Julia)

Most of people have been taught at the school. All of the countries have institution which is called school. Thanks to school which many people learn at, human can distinguish from animals as a " educated living thing".
At school, we can learn not only knowledge , but also society, human relations and manners. That's why it is easy to classify the person who didn't have opportunity to go school and the person who have been to school.
Every countries have school, but their school lives are totally different. There is example of difference of school life; American school life and Korean school life.

One obvious difference is their elementary school life.
In America, they regard that leisure and activities are important than theory.
But, in Korea ,we regard that theory is more important than activities. So we have many institutions which America have few of it.

Other thing of difference between America and Korea is middle school and high school life.
In America, they don't have custom for school uniform. And at high school, they have many parties such as prom and there are many activities.
Their school schedule is simple. It is start at 8:00 am , finish at 3:00pm same as elementary and middle school. After class, they have their free time they don't have academies which is called " secondary school".
They don't go to school at weekend. Weekend is the time they can enjoy free time and enjoy with their family.
In contrast, Korean high school doesn't have parties because we think that high school students must be concentrate their study for the entrance exam of college.
So we doesn't have our free time. According to Korean high school schedule, it start at 7:00am, finish at 11:00pm. It makes students stressful.
Actually the class finish at 6:00pm and from 7:00 pm to 11:00pm. It is self study time. literally, study alone without teacher at the school. After that we have to go another institutions to learn more. And also we have to go school at weekend.

In spite of these differences , they share several things.

In case of physical things, both have same subject and same context which learn at school. Also, both have same organization such as principal, teacher, student.

In case of psychological things, both country students have same duty of students. Also their responsibility of students is same.
In addition, All senior students are worrying about their future and their entrance exam of college.

Korea and America; different, yet alike.
Although the two policies different in many ways such as elementary, middle, high school, they share same things such as duty of student, friendship, subject which learn at school.
We can not judge as which is good, which is bad. They have their own advantages and disadvantages. So we should respect those two policies.

Raising Child in China and U.S: Different

Raising a child is one of the most rewarding experiences one can ever have, but it also can be huge different from China and U.S.

One obvious difference is the academic. In China, children's academic performance is very important for most of parents. They usually spend lots of time to help their children learning and teach advanced knowledge every week since the children are born. Most children know over hundreds Chinese characters when they are three years old. And for that age children, they usually begin to learn the simple addition. But in U.S., the preschool teacher only teach from number 1 to number 5 in three years class.

With over 1.3 billion people, top schools are extremely competitive in China. Almost every Chinese parents want their children to go to top schools. But in U.S., going to the best university of their state is already good enough for many American families.

Another different field is children's social development. In China, the single-child policy has had a dramatic effect on the socialization of children. Only one child is allowed per healthy family, hence the child is the focal point of two parents and four grandparents. There is the likelihood of "spoiling" the child.

In China, when many kids play together, the tradition is the older child looks after the younger one and the younger one respects the older. In U.S., parents usually think the older kids and the younger kids have the equal rights.

China and U.S. are totally opposite on children's athletic development. The Chinese emphasis on athletic development, at the early ages, is to teach skills, not competition. Chinese parents usually allow their children to pursue the professional athletic careers only if their kids are not good at academic. While most American athletes don't move out of the house until they finish at least high school, many professional athletic kids in China are moved before they're 10.

Although the two societies differ in many raising-child practices areas, they share the same goal: raise a good child.

Different countries with similar culture

United States is a big country in North America knowing for almost all countries as the powerful country in the world. Venezuela is a little country in South America knowing for some countries for its oil production. Each country has its own culture and traditions, but what people do not is that these countries have some similarities as well.

One obvious difference is the food, the ingredients and the way to cook is totally different in each country. For example in Venezuela fruits are eating most of the time with each meal like a dessert or especially like a juice. In United States the main drink is soda, which is drinking with the meal or at any time. Also, in the United States fast food is really common to eat almost every day especially in the week. In Venezuela is totally the opposite many people even the one that work all day prefer to eat at home or bring their own food to work, because fast food is more expensive in Venezuela than in the U.S.A, so people go sometime in weekends.

However even that these countries are far away and have differences in culture, also they have some similar traditions.

Both countries, for example, are consumer society in holidays. In Venezuela Christmas is really important, there are big stores that open just in this season with all kind of accessories for the event, also people prepare a lot food and family get together. Venezuelans love to expend money to decorate the houses and to give gift to the people. In the United States people love as well to buy for holidays; stores have thousands of accessories for the holidays and all the different prices and sales. Also for example in Thanksgiving people prepare a lot food and get together with family and friends.

In conclusion many countries can have different traditions and be separate by a short or long distances, but in little details almost all of them have some things in common like holidays or people.

About thirty years ago, for many Chinese families, their dream is to have ten thousand yuan in their bank account. If someone had those money, they definitely were very rich. But now, even the person has one hundred thousand yuan in the bank account, he/she is still far away from a rich person. The value of money falls a lot. Economist generally agree it is caused by inflation.

There are many causes for inflation. The major one is an excessive growth of the money supply. It is usually due to the government print an excess of money to deal with a crisis, such as a civil war in US. Manufacturing money out of thin air eventually puts more money in the ordinary person's pocket. Consumers tend to spend too much. As a result, prices end up rising to keep up with the currency surplus.

Another cause of inflation is production costs raise rapidly. For example, if fuel price increased, the transport cost of materials would have increased. It leads to the company increasing final prices to maintain steady profits. Company usually chose to pass on the burden to the consumer. The increasing on federal product taxes and labor wages are another factors effect production costs.

Inflation also can be caused by international lending and national debts. When the government borrows money, it has to deal with interests, which in the end cause prices to rise. A deep drop of the exchange rate can also result in inflation, because the government will have to deal with the differences in the import and export.

Now, most economists favor a low steady rate of inflation. low inflation may reduce the severity of economic recessions by enabling the labor market to adjust more quickly in a downturn. However, any rise at an unsustainable level will certainly have a bad impact on the economy.

The progressive rise of inflation makes the borrowers to be less willing to use the money as standard differed payments. For example, if you lend out $100 and will get $110 next year, can you still get the same thing using $110 next year as what you spend $100 to get now? The financial organizations will be less willing to loan out money. On the other side, debtors who have debts with a fixed rate of interest will get the benefit from high inflation rate.

Global warming is the warming near the earth's surface that results when the earth's atmosphere traps the sun's heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are expected to grow and speed up. Within the next fifty to one hundred years, the earth may be hotter than it has been in the past million years. As oceans warm and glaciers melt, land and cities along coasts may be flooded. Heat and drought may cause forests to die and food crops to fail. Global warming will affect weather everywhere, plants and animals everywhere, people everywhere; humans are warming the earth's atmosphere by burning fuels, cutting down forest, and by taking part in other activities that release certain heat trapping gases into the air.

There are three main chemical substance of global warming.
First, carbon dioxide, it is from fossil fuel, deforestation , failing sink.

Benefits of recycling

Many people have been trying to protect the planet or to create solutions to solve the global warming. Multiples solutions have been planed, but one of the most common is recycling. This method turns materials that would otherwise into valuable resources. Recycling consist in get bottles, can, paper, plastic, newspaper, and others materials and taking them to a recycling facility where are process to be use again, or to become in new material.

The process of recycling can be follow by three easy steps. The first one is collecting and processing the materials. This depends on the community or education that the society has. Some communities have in schools, universities, malls, and their own houses trashcan for each material. After full the trashcans people go to recycling facilities to give the materials. The second step is manufacturing, once the material is cleaned and separated in this case new products are make with the recycling material. The last recycling is the commercial step, where recycling products are in sell and people with a “green” mind buy the products.

The benefits of recycling are essential for the planet earth and his conservation. Furthermore it reduces the production of new product, which pollute the environment. With more people recycling cheaper it gets, saves energy, reduces emissions of greenhouses gases, conserves natural resources, etc.

People are now interesting to sustain the environment for futures generations, they do not want that their children have a bad place to grow up or an environment which is dangerous for their heath. Transplant a tree is not only move the place... remember it is a living being

To begin, you need to know that trees and shrubs are living being too, thus we should take some care. First, we need to know what kind of tree or shrub we have, because some trees and shrubs need specific location, more sun or more shade, Do you which kind do you have?.
When you dig out your plants you need to dig before your new hole, because the longer it's the roots go out the home, there is more possibility to have a successful transplanting. But, do you know the depth of the hole?, is a twice of the rootball.
When you reach the bottom of the new hole, what do we do? break up the soil beneath? If your answer is this, you are wrong, Don't do that because you increase the possibility to rot the root because the tree or shrub can down more than adequate.

Now, more and more people prefer using GPS during driving, hiking, even fishing. As we all know, the Gloal Positioning System (GPS) involves lots of technical ingenuity, but the process of how GPS receivers work is not as complicate as you might thought.

The GPS receiver has a GPS chip that receives signals from satellites and uses those signals to get a precise fix on your current location. GPS is made up of a system of 27 satellites. 24 is working and the other 3 are back up. These satellites orbit the earth twice a day sending information to receivers on earth of exact time and place of the receiver. So no matter where you are, there should be at least four satellite signals that the GPS receiver can obtain. The GPS receiver uses the signals from minimum of three of the twenty-four satellites to find the longitude and latitude. To find the elevation as well, the GPS receiver will need at least four satellite transmissions.

GPS receiver can get your precise current location, but it needs to do more to be useful as a navigation system. There is a map inside the GPS receiver. It is used to plot your precise location. After input the destination, GPS receiver would use the map and the navigation software to plot a route based on the navigation preferences.

What is holding you back?
Every individuals feel fear from the different causes.
Most of people are destined to feel scared in this life.
In other word, fear can be useful to keep ourself alive.
But I think fear is just a big obstacle in our life.
How can you overcome it?
There are three ways to overcome a fear.
First, face your fear to become stronger.
If you face your fear, you will gain strength, courage and confidence.
And the next thing that comes along will be easier to handle.
Also, to gain a wider perspective of human have to step up and face your fear.
Second, take action, and get busy.
If you are fearing something, take action and get busy.
If you are busy, there is no time to thinking a fear. You might be busy to think another things. So finally you forget about the fear.
The last one is if you are christian, pray to the God.
In bible, it said, "Do not afraid God is always with us".
Whenever you are fearing, think about this phrase and pray to the God.
God will be solve our problem and make us relief.
And I think this is the most effective method to relief a fear .
In conclusion, face your fear to become stronger,take action, and get busy, pray to the God is the way to overcome a fear.
Of course, for each person, they have their own treatment. So some pepple will not agree with my idea.

Mending a broken heart

Most of the people with a broken heart get in depression because they do not know how to handling. Mending a broken heart can be treatment with three easy steps: first working out, second not being alone, and third realize about the situation getting it over. These methods can be really useful for all of those people that just broke up after a long time relationship or a strong sentimental relationship. These people that do not confront or accept the situation may suffer or get in a long depression affecting their healthy.

Doing exercise not only help the body and make you healthy, also, distract you to keep thinking about the situation that is bother you. After finish a relationship your mind do not stop to think in what happen, what made you upset, why the relationship finish in that way, etc. Also, thinking these thoughts make you be upset and cry. When you working out your mind is focus just in the exercise and not in the sad situation. Also, when you finish your body is tired and relaxing because you have also take more oxygen. This is an easy way to be healthy and keep your mind thinking in different thinks until the situation pass.

It is really important have someone that is supporting you in this situation. Most of the time you will be vulnerable to sad situation that make you get upset and depress. Do not think that you will be better alone all time. You will like to be alone sometimes, but having a person with you make you feel better and is there to listen to you. You will be surprise how many real friends you have that are there to help you and also give you advices and make you have fun and be distract of the bad situation. Also, expressing your feelings to someone else make you feel better and help you to understand what happened.

The third step is realized about what happened or why were the causes of the broke up. This step can be also for another kind of situation, which is related to sentimental situations. After all the sorrow and sadness, always the situation pass and it is time to get over it. It is really helpful to understand the situation and realize that it is over and it is time to move on. Another important think is not has resentment with the person that you have the conflict. Having resentment and not forgiving the person it is not healthy and make you feel bad with yourself. That is why you should understand the mistakes, forgive the person, say sorry, and get over it.

In conclusion, doing exercise, talking and expressing your feelings, and understanding the situation can help you to pass through those bad situations and make you be happy again. According to Baum, Sandy and Kathleen Payea, People that have a higher education have as well a better payment. Analyzing the graphic workers between twenty five and older, the graphic show that less than HS diploma get pay 21,600 at year with a full time job. Also, the author calculated that people with a high school diploma have thirty thousand eight hundred dollars per year. Some college without a degree, receive 35,700 dollars. Populace with associate degree gets 37,000 dollars showing a minimum different between associate degree and non-degree. Bachelor ‘s degree has a salary of 49,900 dollars at year. The master’s degree make per year 50,500 $. Doctorate degree makes 79,400 dollars being almost the last degree. Chinese Spring Festival

Chinese Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, is the most important festival in China. The festival begins on the first day of the first lunar month and ends on 15th that month. The celebration of the festival lasted for 15 days, but preparations for it started 10 days before the Chinese New Year's Day. Traditional chinese people would sweep and clean the whole house. Spring couplets, written in black ink on large vertical scrolls of red paper, were put in pairs on the side of the door. The other traditional decorations includes posting red paper-cut on windows, and putting large red "lucky" on the door. On Chinese New Year's Eve, all the family members will try their best to go home and have New Year's Feast together. New year cake and dumplings are two must-have dishes on New Year's Feast. After this dinner, people like go outside to have fireworks. On Chinese New Year day, people usually wear new clothes of red color, and put even number cash in the red envelope and give it to unmarried kids. Chinese Spring Festival celebrations ended on the 15th of the First Moon with the Lantern Festival. On the evening of that day, people celebrated with lanterns displays and children carrying lanterns in a great parade.

"Tierra del Fuego" south of Chile

Tierra del Fuego is a wonderfull place at South of Chile, is the last city in the country and It has an area of 29,484.7 km ² and has a population of 6,904 inhabitants. Its provincial capital is the city of Porvenir.

The disadvantages of being left-handed Julia(Hyun Jung Oh)

Most of people are right handed in the world.
But, there are few left handed people. And also I am right handed person.
According to left handed people, they have more disadvantages than advantages of using left hand. There are 4things that disadvantages of using left hand.
first of all, things like knives and heavy machinary is more dangerous because those things are built for right-handers. they may get hurt.
second, left handers tend not to be able to write very fast and you get tired or writing quicker because of the way they position their hand.
third, It is noticeably harder to find baseball mitts or golf clubs for left handed people, and noticeably more expensive when you do. If you happen to play sports, many conventions and pieces of equipment are configured to expect a right handed user.
And, finally, ANY computer, in ANY public place, will have its mouse on the right hand side of the keyboard, without exception. Some old desktop PCs had the mouse port on the right side of the case, such that it was pretty much impossible to put the mouse on the left side. so they get trouble of that.

New technology can be more a problem than a benefit for old people. However, new generations and companies or business enjoy the advantage of this. Today most of services, photographs, people, books, banks, TV shows, movies, are found it on the web. So people that need something just go to a computer-most of them have their own computer- and pay the bills, check their accounts, make appointments or just buy things using the computers and the web. The young generation grows up knowing, playing and studying with computers. For example, most of schools have computers since kindergarten. However, old people or third generation never learns about computers or how to use it. This is a problem first of all because sometime banks require using computer or some companies or government pages require first make appointments or write chart before go to them. Second, most pictures now are in computer, so this third generation cannot enjoy or know about families or friends. Indeed this people do not have more option than learn how to use computers.

The wonderful Venezuelan Food

Venezuelan food can be an interesting experience for tourists. International people get surprised and delighted with the Venezuelan food. One of the reasons is the mix of cultures that happened five hundred years ago. The influences came from the Indians of the country, the Spanish, Africans and Indians. Also one of the good thinks with this food is that most of the ingredients are natural. Vegetables and fruits are harvested in the country, and as an agricultural country the products have few chemicals. This is important because the food is recognize for has a lot of vegetables, fruits and spices, this ones are a combination from a lot cultures because of all the internationals that lives in the country. After the Second World War a lot of Germans, Italians and Spanish people came to Venezuela looking for new opportunities, so we can say that Venezuela food is a delicious cultural combination.

Jinan - my great hometown

There are three greatest attractions in Jinan. The first one is Baotu Spring. Jinan is also named "City of Springs" for its numerous natural springs. Baotu Spring is the most famous one of all. "Baotu" means "jumping and leaping" in chinese. The water keeps gushing out through three outlets. Since ancient times, many famous poems and prose have been written about its unique beauty. Second renown place is Daming Lake. This lake is formed from many springs. No matter heavy rains or drought, the water level of Daming Lake is always constant. Summer is the best time to visit there. At that time, a lot of lotuses bloom uninhibitedly and willows around the lake swing with the breeze. The last greatest attraction in Jinan is the Thousand-Buddha Mountain. There is a Thousand-Buddha Temple at half way of the mountain and many Buddhas were carved in the cliffs. These three famous scenic spots are truly amazing and make Jinan an attractive tourist resort.

small but strong country, Korea

My home towm is south korea.south korea is smaller than mississippi.
Even though, Korea is small country, it is strong.
But unfortunately, Korea has a gloomy history. Few years ago, korea had been controled by many countries. Even after independnt, we are divided 2groups, north korea and south korea.
Until now , they are divided. And what is worse, the public is starving because they are very poor.
So some people are going abroad. But that makes our country more weaker.
Other countries called emigrant as a ugly Korean. Because their costume is not neat and they are lude. I was very shame after listen that word.
But there is one merit that makes korea strong.
That is patience and effort.
For 10 years, we are grown up from poor country to strong country, from ugly Korean to well-mannered Korean.
Now we are known for kimchi , tae kyun do and a semiconductor.
And also Korea called semiconductor country.
There are samsung (popular multinational corporation), hyun dai , kia(known as car brand).
Nowadays, a lots of foreigners coming to Korea.
In Seoul, there is foreigner town called lee tae won.
Meanwhile, lots of people were going to abroad. In America there are many korea town at Newyork, Cicago, LA.
